The multiplier and its base
A requirement is written as a multiple, and the multiple is meaningless until you know what it multiplies. Two bases are in common use, and they differ by exactly a factor of two on a fully matched deposit.
| Deposit | Bonus | 35× the bonus | 35× deposit and bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| R 500 | R 500 | R 17 500 | R 35 000 |
| R 1 800 | R 1 800 | R 63 000 | R 126 000 |
| R 5 000 | R 5 000 | R 175 000 | R 350 000 |
One line in the terms decides which column you are in, and the headline is identical in both.
Game weighting, the multiplier nobody mentions
The second multiplier is the contribution table, and it changes the requirement without changing its number. If live tables count for ten per cent, then R 63 000 of requirement becomes R 630 000 of live play — which is not a requirement anyone meets, and is the reason bonus play is nearly always slot play.
| Where you play it | Typical contribution | What R 63 000 becomes |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | R 63 000 |
| Live dealer tables | often 10% | R 630 000 |
| Table games in software | often 10–20% | R 315 000 and up |
| Sportsbook bets | frequently 0% | never clears |
Typical figures, not quotes. The table on the operator's own site is the one that governs, and it is the document to read.
This is also the mechanism that makes a bonus an implicit instruction about how to play. Accepting one usually means accepting that the session will be spent on slots, whatever you intended when you deposited.
The expiry, and why it decides everything
A requirement has a clock attached. Seven days, thirty days — and a requirement that cannot be met within it is not an offer at all, it is a deposit with conditions. The honest check is arithmetic: divide the requirement by what you actually play in an hour, and see whether the answer fits in the time allowed.
At R 8 000 through a slot in an hour — a reasonable figure from the slots page — a R 63 000 requirement is around eight hours of play, and a R 126 000 one is sixteen. Whether that fits a seven-day window is a question about your week rather than about the offer.
How to read a set of bonus terms in two minutes
- Find the multiplier and its base. One sentence, usually in the first paragraph of the bonus terms.
- Find the contribution table. Usually a small table further down, occasionally on a separate page.
- Find the maximum stake. A small figure, enforced automatically, capable of voiding the balance.
- Find the expiry, and divide. The requirement over your hourly play is the number of hours. Compare it against the window.

These carry on from here: Free spins, Welcome bonuses, Bonuses, read from the terms rather than the headline.
Questions people actually ask
What does 35× actually mean?
That thirty-five times some amount must pass through the games before the balance can be withdrawn. Which amount is the question the number alone does not answer.
What is game weighting?
The share of a bet that counts toward the requirement. Slots typically count in full, live tables often ten per cent, some games nothing at all.
