Open the account first, buy the coin second
The order matters and it is the reverse of what most people do. Opening the account costs nothing and reveals three things that decide what to buy: which assets the cashier lists, which networks the deposit screen expects, and what the withdrawal minimum is.
Buying first means guessing at all three. The common outcome is arriving with an asset the site converts on arrival, or on a network the deposit screen does not offer โ the second being the expensive version of the mistake.
The name, and why it is the whole game
Whatever name is entered at registration is the name that must match the documents if a check is ever run. That is the one field on the form that is expensive to get wrong, and it is the field people fill in carelessly because nothing is verified at that moment.
- Use the name as it appears on the document you would send. Not a shortened version, not a preferred name.
- The address matters too. Whatever is entered has to be supportable by a document later, and an address typed carelessly months earlier is a mismatch.
- Both are editable until a check is under way. Changing details while a request is open is the reliable way to turn a short check into a long one.
Verification covers what a request usually contains and when it arrives.
The rest of the form
The currency choice sets what the balance is displayed in and frequently cannot be changed afterwards. The date of birth is not a formality even though nothing is checked at that moment: it is the declaration the operator relies on, and an account that cannot later pass the check it implies is an account whose balance is not going anywhere.
The password and the second factor
A casino account holds money and is reached from a phone, which puts it in the same category as a banking app rather than a forum login. Two habits cover most of the risk.
- A password used nowhere else. Credentials leaked from unrelated services are tried in bulk against gambling sites precisely because those accounts hold balances.
- Two-factor authentication, if the site offers it. Prefer an authenticator app to SMS: a number can be moved to another handset by someone who convinces an operator to do it, and an app on your phone cannot.
Neither habit is specific to gambling, and both matter more here than on an ordinary account because of what is sitting in the balance.

Questions people actually ask
What does registration ask for?
An email address, a password, usually a currency choice and a date of birth. No documents at that stage at the sites in this catalogue.
Why open the account before buying the coin?
So the cashier can be read first: which assets it lists, which networks it expects, and what the withdrawal minimum is. All three change what you should buy.
